Oncology is a field of medicine that has always been close to my heart. As an oncologist, I have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients. My motivation to pursue a career in this field was driven by my desire to change the course of disease for those affected by cancer, and to provide them with the best possible care. Radiation therapy is often an integral part of cancer treatment, and as an oncologist, I am able to be there for my patients throughout their entire journey.
I found that I truly enjoyed the three-dimensional thinking required to target tumors while preserving healthy tissue. Additionally, I was drawn to the science behind radiobiology, physics, and technology. The oncology industry is rapidly evolving, and I am excited to see where it will be in the next 10 years. With advances in technology and research, we are able to provide more effective treatments and better outcomes for our patients.
We are also seeing a shift towards personalized medicine, which takes into account individual patient characteristics such as genetics and lifestyle. I am proud to be part of this field and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of cancer patients.
